Who Should Take This Program?

This course is focused on those individuals who have a background in healthcare documentation and need a more indepth understanding of the electronic health record. It is designed to be taken over a  period of 9 months in order to make it easy to do while continuing to work a full time job as well as affordable to do with a low monthly payment plan.  Students will gain the knowledge of the language of the new technologies in health care as well as an understanding on how to apply those skills in roles that are being developed. This is a great opportunity for medical transcriptionists to take a step toward preparing for future roles in the electronic health record arena, while using their current skills that have taken them to this point in their career. Upon completion, graduates will have a broad understanding of the electronic records and be able to utilize that knowledge with the skills they have in healthcare documentation to compete for the emerging roles in the EHR.

This program includes a total of 29 separate courses and has been pre-approved by AHDI for CECs for each individual course. When you have completed the program, you will have gained the following CECs: 4 Clinical Medicine, 3.5 MT Tools, 3.0 Medicolegal, and 83 Technology and the Workplace.
